The idea for awards recognizing those in the Christian Rock/Metal industry came to Justin Forshaw of As We Ascend while playing at a festival in Germany in October of 2018. He posted on his Facebook page “We’ve got the “Dove Awards” for the light stuff and the soccer moms…Maybe the “Eagle or Falcon” Awards should happen for Christian Hard Rock…We can host them in a storage unit or an out building for good measure.”

Soon after the idea taken to the next level and he was joined by Cindy Blankenship, or known as “Mothership” to many artist, Rock on Purpose Founder, Mary Nikkel and ATD Media Founder, Joel Burris. Their goal? To celebrate the artist, musicians, producers and song writers long ignored by the Soccer Mom Awards from the other guys.

There are a handful of sites helping bring back focus to Christian Rock, namely Solid Rock Radio, Rock On Purpose, JesusWired.com, A1MRadio, and The Christian Rock 20 to name a few.
