They are back! The Breaking Darkness Music Festival returns for their 2nd annual event to benefit Christian outreach ministries helping people overcome addiction. We had to do a bonus Backstage With Mothership interview this month to make sure, Seth Olsen who is the  Festival organizer and Guitarist for Counter, had a opportunity to tell you all about the festival, artists, and outreaches that will be a part of this event.

After being announced by Kingdom Come Festival as their Saturday night headliner they are ready to spill all of the tea.

The band The End of I is made up of Jeremy Riley and his two sons Gabriel and Noah along with bassist, Randy Healy. With an inspiring testimony of recovery, Jeremy has a powerful ministry in both word and music. The band’s new singles, supported by Resurrection Records will feature heavy music with a message of hope.

Californian born rocker Devin Williams is a seven-time Billboard Top 30 Christian Rock artist and will be releasing his first EP “Conquer the World,” on Resurrections Records on May 9th. As a singer-songwriter, producer, and worship leader, Devin’s passion is to truly connect personal stories and inspirations through his music. Serving as a worship leader at local churches in the Nashville area, Devin purses God’s call on his life and seeks to spread the message of His love and grace. Devin impacts audiences worldwide with his powerful positive message of the Gospel.

Disciple is back with their recently released single and video of the deluxe version of “Resurrecting Reasons,” featuring TJ Harris of Decyfer Down. The deluxe version of their 2023 album Skeleton Psalms will be releasing on April 25th and will include several unreleased singles, acoustic renditions, and studio mixes. This Monday we talk with Kevin Young who  gives us some exclusive insight into the new version of the single and the upcoming East Coast tour with Decyfer Down. TJ Harris of Decyfer Down will also chime in with his take on the this special release.

Sonny Sandoval is our guest this week on Backstage With Mothership. Not only will we talk about his new book, Son of Southtown: My Life Between Two Worlds, we will talk new music, tours, The Whosoevers, Youth of the Nation Foundation and much more.

Stained Red, out of Texas, are four guys that love the Lord and want to play music in the name of Jesus and spread his word through song. They play whenever and wherever they possibly can. A relatively young band they have begun not only charting locally and regionally, but have begun to be recognized nationally. Their most recent release is a four song EP and they are currently writing new music.

Fear Not was formed in 1987 at the height of the vibrant Los Angeles rock and metal scene. They were inspired by and worked with many other iconic Christian bands over the years. Their unique Southern rock and metal sound is still strong with their recent comeback offering Fields of Sorrow (EP 2022) and their remastered single of “Voluntary Madness.” Don’t miss finding out what comes next. Our guest this week is, Marshal Huffman of Relentless Flood who was recently on an acoustic tour of Germany with Josh Bramblett of The Protest. While in Germany, Mothership had a chance to catch up with what was happening with Marshal, the band, the acoustic tour and hear about the new acoustic release of the classic Relentless Flood song, Still I Know. We also had Josh chime in about the acoustic tour and the collaboration with Marshal while they are in Germany.

Resurrection Records artist Trey Tate Music has been playing a variety of genres of music over the last decade. Trey got his start playing music in church worship bands as a Bass Player in the late 2000’s as a teenager and continues to do so to this day, serving as the Co-Worship Leader with his wife on their Church’s Worship Team. Trey is also one of the founding members and Bassist for All Came As One, a Christian band from Wythe County, Virginia who formed in the Spring of 2013. On January 19th, 2024, Trey released his 6 track debut EP: Graffiti which has had great success on the Christian music charts. I hope you drop in to hear more about his project.

Michael Felker of Convictions gives us a run down of the newest album Fear of God, the first tour of 2025 and much more. Convictions is an aggressive worship band based out of Ohio and offers an emotional mix of spirit filled hardcore.

The final Backstage With Mothership show of 2024 is a two-hour special featuring Jake Luhrs, lead vocalist of August Burns Red. Jake talks about the band, their music, Christmas Burns Red, and more. He also discusses HeartSupport, the mental health non-profit he founded, sharing his own struggles and how he aims to make a lasting impact beyond brief fan interactions. Editors Note: While the show is two hours, the interview itself is about 57 minutes due to music restrictions.

Sean Green, the lead vocalist of the band Behold the Beloved checks in with Backstage With Mothership this week. We talk about ministry, new label, new music, new video, as well as their second appearance at CVJM Loud and Proud Festival in Germany. Our last interview was a couple of years ago after the release of their hit album No Surrender so there was a lot of catching up to do.

For those who are unaware, I'm on the booking team of the Loud and Proud Festival in Germany. My position is primarily as a Liasson between the rest of the team and the many US bands we host. We book bands from other countries as well, so, this year while in Germany, I had the unique opportunity and privilege to interview two European bands; Narnia is a well established power metal legend of a band from Sweden and A Life Aligned is a new, up and coming band out of the Netherlands.

Our guest this week is indie rock artist Autumn Eve. Autumn has pulled from an abusive past to give her and her fans a voice and healing for their soul through music. One of the organizers of Kingdom Come Festival, Angie joins Backstage With Mothership on Monday, just a few days before it kicks off on Thursday, June 13th. Trevor Tyson in his first ever interview about the new project, Heal the Hurt, gives us everything we need to know about the band and what to expect in the future. From his working with ministries since his early teens, to his own podcast “Trevor Talks,” and starting his media company Transparent Media,  this was the next logical step into the metal industry that has contributed to keeping his mental health on track and him moving forward.
